About ORIAMI

ORIAMI® was born during the development of stationery and hobby products using wire mesh, which was conventionally used for filters and other industrial purposes. This product was born from the playful mind of a skilled craftsman.

The “origami cranes” made by this craftsman with wire mesh were so beautifully made that many people who saw his work wanted to make them.

However, since wire mesh is made of metal, it is rigid and sharp, and if used as is, it could cause injury, making it difficult to fold as origami for anyone but a professional craftsman.

After much trial and error, we exhibited origami works folded with wire mesh, which seemed relatively easy to fold, at the Arakawa Industrial Exhibition held in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo last year, and sold them on a monitor.

Children told us that it was good because it was unbreakable, and we decided to release it this time under the guidance of origami artist Mariko Miyamoto and supervised by the Japan Origami Association so that individuals can enjoy wire mesh origami with peace of mind.
