Since its establishment in 1922 in downtown Tokyo, our company has been engaged in the manufacture and sale of wire mesh for about 100 years.
As a professional in metal and wire mesh processing, it was one craftsman’s playful spirit that led us to develop ORIAMI. The paper cranes folded with ultra-thin, fine wire mesh used for industrial filters were extremely popular, and people who happened to see them commented on how good and interesting they were.
However, it takes a craftsman’s skill to be able to fold hard, sharp wire mesh at will. Through repeated trial and error, we have developed wire mesh origami that is easy for anyone to fold, while reviewing the materials and safety. Under the technical guidance of Origami artist Mariko Miyamoto, we introduced various works using ORIAMI, and under the supervision of the Japan Origami Association, we repeatedly improved the product so that not only adults but also children and the elderly can enjoy it, and in December 2015, we started selling it as a product. We are proud to introduce this new product.
ORIAMI” and “KANAORI” are the result of our company’s technology and craftsmen’s playful spirit, who are well versed in the characteristics of wire mesh. We hope you will take a look at these new materials, which add preservability and a texture unique to metal to the traditional Japanese culture of origami.
